Before officially “debuting”, Nicky spent nearly 5 years as a trainee at ST.319, practicing and nurturing his musical dream. The young man’s initial luggage was just a fierce passion and relentless perseverance. During the difficult early days, he gradually improved his vocal skills, dancing skills and stage presence. During this time, Nicky also made his own mark in the hearts of the audience as a member of the K-Pop cover dance group ST.319 or through the Thai-language video covering Min’s song “Find”.

A big turning point in Nicky’s career came when he debuted with Monstar as the group leader, rapper and main dancer. Although they are new, Monstar is considered the leading promising boy band in Vpop with a modern, civilized musical direction and quality products in all aspects. This is a great opportunity for Nicky to shine, but also a big challenge when he has to prove his own personality in a talented group. With his ability to rap, dance skillfully, attractive on stage, sense of humor and a smile on his face, Nicky quickly became a magnet for fans and an indispensable source of energy for Monstar.

In 2021, when Monstar disbanded, Nicky was at a crossroads in his career. Temporarily putting aside his passion for music, he decided to try his hand at being an MC. With his eloquence, charm and positive energy, he quickly won the hearts of the audience as a “VJ Nicky”. In the same year, Nicky was honored to receive the “Best Male MC” award at the World Creator Awards , as a recognition of his talent in a new field. Still carrying the creative spirit of an artist, Nicky launched the unique talk show project “NICKY NICKA”, where he presented new perspectives through meaningful conversations with guests from many fields. With a delicate storytelling style and a gentle and intimate style, Nicky successfully created a special “entertainment ride”, taking the audience through all the emotions – from refreshing laughter with a strong sense of humor, to quiet moments of contemplation. 

But it seems that shining in the role of MC for too long, a “singer Nicky” has fallen asleep in him and in the public’s impression. It was not until 2024 that this musical talent was once again known to a wide audience through the program “Anh Trai Say Hi”. Together with his teammates, creating the performance that won the “Best Hit” award of the season – “Catch me if you can”, Nicky still proved the mettle of a former captain of a famous band with his voice, choreography and a very natural stage charisma. It was those moments of burning out that awakened the artistic fire in him. And after 3 years of temporarily putting aside his dream in the notes, Nicky had a spectacular comeback with his first solo song called “That qua hai.. de yeu”, collaborating with female singer AMEE. With its sweet melody and lyrics full of nostalgia, the song entered the Top 8 Trending Music, Top 2 Viral Music and many achievements right after its release.

In a recent interview with Dep Magazine, Nicky shared: “ For me, this return to music is like my second chance to “debut”. That’s why I want everything to be perfect to go the long way”. With proven talent and careful and serious preparation, “It’s too much to love” is definitely just the starting point for a promising musical path that awaits Nicky ahead.

Not a talent that shone brightly from the very first steps, nor a star at the peak of his career, Nicky’s journey tells a more ordinary, more sympathetic story: a story of turning points and the courage to return to a passion that had fallen asleep. Debuting to the public in 2016, Nicky now has a new start in the V-Pop market. But the Nicky of 8 years later has his own musical personality, his own mark, and most importantly, he is a Nicky who knows that the stage of music and dance is where he belongs.

In recognition of Nicky’s return, Dep Awards 2024 awarded him the title “New Wave” – a well-deserved honor for the efforts and creativity of the multi-talented artist. The “new wave” that Nicky brings not only stirs up the Vietnamese music scene but also strongly inspires young people who are eager to assert themselves.

In the joy of being honored with the “New Wave” award at the Dep Awards 2024, Nicky shared his sincere feelings about his musical journey: “ After participating in the program ‘Anh Trai Say Hi’, my musical wave has been stronger, attracting attention and recognition from the audience. For me, this is not only an important milestone but also a great source of motivation to continue to create and contribute. I hope to continue to accompany the audience on the upcoming journeys, bringing new and meaningful musical values and constantly enriching the souls of listeners .”
