Venue: Hanoi International Center For Exhibition (ICE) – 91 Tran Hung Dao Str, Ward Cua Nam, Hanoi City, Vietnam

On the evening of March 8 & 9, the Live concert of male singer Ha Anh Tuan – “Sketch A Rose in Saigon” ended with great excitement with more than 20,000 audiences, continuing the brilliant journey of “Sketch A Rose” at Esplanade (Singapore) and Sydney Opera House (Australia). It can be said that this is a special reunion, a stage not only for Ha Anh Tuan but also a place where voices from Vpop generations can harmonize. There, there are “brother two” Lam Truong, Quang Hung MasterD, … weaving together sounds that have been deeply imprinted in the memories and youth of thousands of hearts.

In a space dyed in red, the music played like streaks of color painting a Saigon that is both realistic and dreamy. Ha Anh Tuan took the audience into the stream of memories through the immortal melodies of “Starry City Night” and “I Still Wait for You at the Old Appointment Place”. In addition, “Sketch A Rose in Saigon” was not just Tuan’s music night, but also featured the sounds of nearly 150 artists, under the direction of Tran Nhat Minh Music School, making music a gateway for the audience to find a part of themselves in this sleepless city.

Continuing the nostalgia for the City named after Uncle Ho, the two music nights also marked the reunion between Vpop generations. If Lam Truong’s voice carries the youthful sky of many generations, then the name Quang Hung MasterD is the new beat, the tone of a dynamic young generation.

Ha Anh Tuan emotionally shared: “Seeing brother Lam Truong is seeing a lifetime of living and loving music. Music never stops, music is passed from generation to generation, and that is how we love each other.”

The audience was overwhelmed when melodies such as “Anh Sang Cua Doi Toi”, “Katy Katy”, “999 Doa Hong”,… were played, like a ticket back in time, awakening the innocent but brilliant years. In particular, the performance of Ha Anh Tuan and Lam Truong singing in harmony in “Tinh Thoi Xot Xa” – the “bedside song” of many young people in the 1990s, truly touched 20,000 hearts.

Through the sounds that have grown up with a generation, “First Love Overdrinking” resonates like the fresh beat of an era – dynamic, yet still full of emotions. On the symphonic background, the voices of two generations – Quang Hung MasterD and Ha Anh Tuan – harmonize, the audience suddenly realizes that this is no longer a performance, but a dialogue between the past and the present. A generation that once lived with haunting melodies, a generation that is writing a new chapter of Vietnamese music.

Nostalgia and modernity always go hand in hand, which is the characteristic of the music of “Sketch A Rose”. The songs composed by talented young musicians such as Vu Cat Tuong, Vu., Hoang Dung, Tran Duy Khang, Thanh Nghiep… have had a new life when they were performed on stage.

Finally, the melodies of “April Is Your Lie”, “Spring”, or the medley “Heaven Calls Your Name – Love You – Love Rain” resounded, each note like pieces stacked on top of each other telling the story of a time gone by. And then, Yiruma’s legendary piano, “Kiss The Rain”, “River Flows In You” or “May Be, I, Reminiscent” resounded, gentle yet profound, like a stream of sound leading dreamy souls to a world where music is not only to be heard, but also to be touched, to be sobbed. Like the initial spirit of “Sketch A Rose”, each note is a petal, gentle yet intense, contributing to weaving a brilliant rose in everyone’s heart.

Sharing about his new friend Ha Anh Tuan, Yiruma did not hesitate to affirm: “It is an honor to collaborate with one of the most outstanding artists in Vietnam – Ha Anh Tuan. He often calls me by the intimate name “Ru-ma”, which is also how my close friends often call me.”

Not stopping there, Yiruma and Ha Anh Tuan continued to bring the audience to “Dear, Memory” – a special song that Yiruma composed specifically for Ha Anh Tuan – a rare thing in this artist’s career. The gentle lyrics are like a letter sent to the most beautiful memories, where emotions have never faded, and a tribute to those who devote their whole hearts to pure art.

The romantic proposal moment received blessings from Ha Anh Tuan, and was witnessed and recognized by 20,000 spectators.

With “Sketch A Rose”, Ha Anh Tuan not only created a music night, but also built a pure artistic realm – where the artist’s soul and the audience found each other through each melody. When the last notes ended, the applause still resounded, as if wanting to hold on to each moment, each emotion that had not yet been named. Like a gentle, shy spring rain visiting Saigon, like a quiet moment full of echoes for the reunion of music-loving souls.

But the story doesn’t end there. After the performance in his homeland, “Sketch A Rose” will continue at the Dolby Theatre (USA) in October 2025 – the place known as the cathedral of Hollywood cinema.
