For the first time in Vietnam, piano legend Yiruma will officially participate in the concert “Sketch A Rose” by artist Ha Anh Tuan. It promises to bring an emotional music night with unforgettable artistic moments in the journey of “sketching a rose”. Coming to the two shows on March 8 and 9, 2025, the audience will not only witness a unique combination on stage but also the intersection between two artistic souls with a common vision of how to create music that is delicate, emotional and sustainable over time.

Valentine’s Day is coming, people recall the romantic love stories that once created a fever across Asia. The first generation of “Korean drama fans” can hardly forget the legendary love drama Winter Sonata. Yiruma – the author of familiar melodies such as “Kiss the Rain”, “River Flows in You” or “May Be” played a very important role in that period. His compositions were an important part of the first generation of K-Dramas. Born into an artistic family, Yiruma began playing the piano at the age of five and received formal training in the UK. Under the guidance of leading music educators at Purcell School of Music and King’s College London, he soon established himself. However, instead of following the traditional classical path, Yiruma chose a unique direction for his music, writing simple, familiar melodies that contain depth. Subtly combining classical and popular elements, Yiruma has crossed old boundaries and risen to become a piano icon of the era. 

For Yiruma, every stage he appears on is a choice that goes through many strict criteria. This time, when he received an invitation from Ha Anh Tuan, he did not hesitate to agree. What made a world-class artist like Yiruma choose “Sketch A Rose” as a destination in his artistic journey?

Two shows were booked at the world’s art cathedrals, the Esplanade Theater (Singapore) and the Sydney Opera House (Australia). The entire stage was covered with 80,000 roses transported from Vietnam to serve the two shows, welcoming more than 3,200 audiences. The “artisans” who created this brilliant journey all came from Vietnam. Beyond music, Ha Anh Tuan also wants to bring Vietnamese artists to shine on the international art stage. 

It is the serious investment and passion along with the musical spirit of Ha Anh Tuan – an artist who always appreciates sophistication, honors emotions and is steadfast in artistic values that has become a convincing reason for Yiruma’s nod. “ Sketch A Rose” is not simply a concert, but a pure artistic space where music is not only to be enjoyed but also to be breathed together. The most special highlight of “ Sketch A Rose in Saigon” is: Yiruma not only performed the works that made his name, but he also brought a completely new composition – an exclusive song for Ha Anh Tuan and the Vietnamese audience. This is a rare decision in Yiruma’s career, when he wrote a work based on inspiration from another artist. This further affirms the respect and special affection he has for the concert held in Vietnam this time.

At “ Sketch A Rose” , for the first time, Yiruma will perform on the same stage with Ha Anh Tuan, Lam Truong, Quang Hung MasterD and more than 150 other artists, together promising to create an emotional and sublime music night.
